Approximately 80,000 to 100,000 women of all ages come together at local health and fitness events in large and small groups around the country. 1. Exercise regularly

It is well known that heart disease is the biggest cause of death in women in the US. Exercising can help to keep this condition at bay. Aim for 150 minutes of exercise every week, or 30 minutes per day for five days. You do not need to do heavy-duty workouts as following a routine of moderate regular exercises will do.

2. Develop healthy eating habits

Many women are prone to overlooking dietary requirements, but you need to obtain all of the nutrients you need from the meals you consume. That means plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, meat, fish, poultry, low-fat dairy products, and nuts. Women typically require a lot of calcium to grow healthy bones and teeth and maintain their strength as they age. Dairy products, cereals, leafy green vegetables, beans, legumes, tofu, and cabbage are all good sources of calcium.

3. Stay hydrated

This technique may appear simple, yet it is one of the most important aspects of living a healthy lifestyle. Drinking plenty of water during the day is vital to maintaining your physical and mental fitness and health. You can carry a water bottle with you as a reminder to stay adequately hydrated. Prioritizing drinking water will also help you avoid consuming sugary soft drinks that have no nutritional value.

4. Prioritize your sleep

Getting enough sleep to feel refreshed and balanced can help you stay productive, maintain a higher level of reasoning, and maintain emotional stability. Women who have trouble sleeping or experience interrupted sleep may struggle with weight control, memory issues, and an increased risk of heart disease.Begin by cultivating healthy sleeping habits, such as:

  • Not consuming coffee after 2 PM
  • Avoid screen time before 30 minutes of going to sleep
  • Read a book or listen to relaxing music instead of watching TV/computer
  • Try bedtime journaling
  • Use deep breathing and meditative practices to clear your mind.

5. Get your annual women’s health and wellness exam

Preventive care is essential for your health, which means you should never be too busy to schedule your yearly well-woman exam. It's a great time to check for major health issues that often go undiscovered, such as high blood pressure and bad cholesterol levels.
